As a 15 year old, I designed, built, and launched a high-power solid-propellant rocket using a Student Researched and Developed (SRAD) motor with KNSB propellant. The mission was to reach an apogee of 3,000 m using an M1848 class motor. I built the structure with fiberglass lamination and epoxy, with 3D printing. Only the parachutes are Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS). However, a recovery system failure to deploy the parachutes resulted in ballistic descent and loss of the rocket.
